The session illustrates the importance and value of communication across the entire vehicle supply chain between the designer, manufacturer, and end user.
Sometimes, customers may perform post-delivery work to get a trailer on the road or deal with minor equipment irritations during the life of a trailer. Many customers accept this situation as “normal” process to place a vehicle in service. In fact, many of these issues can be rectified by communicating effectively with original equipment supplier prior to and during build.
In the case of a manufacturer, effective support from a Tier 2 or component supplier will yield significant savings in the design phase and production preparation. Again, effective communications have a significant role to play in reducing costs and improving productivity.
