John Wall is recognised as one of Australia’s leading specialists in the application of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for road safety. He has over 25 years experience in the development of road safety strategies and countermeasures and holds tertiary qualifications in agricultural science, education and public health.
He is currently the Manager of Road Safety Technology with the Centre for Road Safety within Transport for New South Wales and is responsible for the development of research and evaluation programs within the Centre that focus on new road safety technologies including connected and automated vehicles.
John’s team established the CITI project which covers more than 23,000 km of road network and is Australia’s only deployment site for this technology. CITI is the largest Heavy Vehicle Cooperative ITS deployment in the world at this time and has collected more than 4 billion records for analysis as part of this ground breaking road safety project.
